I am also facing a problem with it and a problem installing mods
not working
if you playing on windows 11 and your game didn’t launch i got a solution :
– first of all you need to download and install vc_redistx64 & vc_redistx86 (after that restart your pc)
– and then go to your windows security -> virus & threat protection -> virus & threat protection settings (manage settings) -> exclusions (add or remove exclusions) -> add an exclusions -> choose the anno 1800 folder (not the bin but the parent folder)
– after that go to your windows defender firewall -> add an app… -> change settings -> allow another app.. -> browse the anno.exe file -> choose and add it
– go to nvidia control panel -> manage 3D settings -> program settings -> add the anno.exe file
– and also go to your system settings -> display -> graphics -> add anno.exe file -> change the options on high performance
– don’t forget go to anno.exe properties make sure to change the compatibility mode to windows 8 and check the “run this program as administrator”
at first it might still not launching but for me after several times i try to click and reopen the game it launch and go well
