Less than 5 minutes with SSD
If you guys experience problems with the controller follow these steps:
1. Make sure steam already installed in your PC
2. login to your steam acc / create your acc first if you dont have
3. Add elden ring as a none steam game
4. Run the game through steam
PS: Make sure to setup your controller setting first and checklist “Playstation Configuration Support” and “Xbox Configuration Support” in your steam controller setting (Steam > Setting > Controller)
I downloaded elamigos ver from here and play it with my PS5 controller works fine no issue after hours play
i added it as a non steam game and i ran it through and my controller still doesnt work.
Some people on reddit are sharing tutorials on fixing controllers for this game but it seems like every controller/pc has its own issues, mine was fixed with the first tutorial but you might want to try this too:
1. Deleting vjoy:
if your controller isn’t working on elden ring try deleting vjoy from apps and features
2. (extra from previous) Steam controller:
Steam > Controller > Enable Xbox Configuration Support and Generic Gamepad Configuration Support > start steam big picture mode and make sure xbox controller detected in controller option > run the game
3. Disable steam overlay:
-Open Steam’s Settings menu.
-Select the In-Game tab.
-Uncheck the Enable the Steam overlay while in-game option.
4. Unplug USB:
Unplug all usb that connected to your pc and plugin your controller then try run the game
5. Wait for a new patch from the dev

– Open service and terminate Nvidia LocalSystemContainer
– Start DS4 windows > go to setting Tab > Tick Hide DS4 Controller
– Launch the game

For you apes out there who try to update the game but get a bunch of missing files and white blank screen
DOWNLOAD AND UPDATE YOUR GAME FROM THE FIRST UPDATE PATCH, DO IT IN ORDER UNTIL THE LATEST PATCH, START FROM INSTALLING 1.02.1 UPDATE UNTIL 1.03.2, DONT SKIP ANY UPDATE OR YOUR GAME WILL FUCKED UP
Did that, every update works fine until the 1.03.2 update, i get a CRC error on one file and when i try to run game i get a white screen.

There’s patch 1.3 included in Patch 1.4 zip, therefore you no need to download the 1.3. The reason the data game are corrupted it’s because installing the previous patch. As example i forgot that i already installed 1.3.1-.2 way before 1.4 existed and when it exist i installing all in the zip which make my already patch 1.3.2 elden ring back to 1.3.1.

Might be very late for this, but basically you install the base game like normal through the setup exe’s; then once you’re done and have the game installed, the Extract the Update into a folder, and run its exe program.
Once you’re in the Setup screen, make sure to copy the CRACK or CODEX as it updates and makes the game recognize that its been updated and can properly run now.

maybe your base game is from plaza which is if i remember correctyly it’s on version 1.05 while the elamigos version is on version 1.07.
the update itself said that you need version 1.07 before you update to 1.08 or else the game might crash or some file might got deleted.
